Clear Anno/Clear Coat Spray/Varnish?? :)

I've bought a shocker body which's been stripped of anno & milled, however the metal's really dull, & tho doubtfull It would look that good, I like the clear annoed DM6. If I polished the metal up again (he told me it was polished when it was done but that it's gone dull since (thru oxidisation? )), would it be possible to spray it with some kind of clearcoat; would that keep it 'shiny'? Or is it better to just clear anno it (again, will it stay shiny)

It's a shocker if it matters about type of metal etc

the anno should act as a barrier agaist oxidization as it is aluminium it will always form a dull layer of aluminium oxide on the top so you need a barrier to stop that

my freeflow rhythm is clear anno'd and people often confuse it with chrome - so if youre looking for the chrome look, you have to really shine and polish it before you anodise it clear.

but its strongly advised to polish to the best finish possible before spraying, or you'll just preserve any scratches and blemishes...

'S what I was thinking of doing, my Dad's a glazier & has lots of polishing tools, I think I'll polish it up & clear coat it with a clear acrylic

Personally I think that's an urban myth, has anyone ever got ink poisoning from writing on their hand? (yes with biro, writing on your hand with something like ricin I'm sure would poison you )?

No used to happen, quite a few of the original inks had large amounts of lead in them, thus you died of lead poisoning if you ingested too much.

Todays inks are alot safer (Still wouldn't recommend drinking any thou i.e. The Last Emperor style)

P.S. What was so important to be written that big across your hand?

I found a red wine I like (have tried to drink it but haven't liked anything so far)
and it was big because I had already consumed some

Yeah that would make a mess in the long run...
I'm on a budget , but I'll have a look at anno prices

having it polished will probably cost more than having it annodised due to the amount of time it can take, depending on hwo bad any scratches are.

in terms of finishing i would recommend annodising over anything else as it wont flake or chip and will protect the metal far better..

have a word with slothball, they seem to be the popular choice for annodizing these days
