SL66 to look pimp cos Planet rock ;)

DM6 if you are a sheep and have less money ;) :D
So it's the sheep that buy DMs over Egos? Funny I thought it was the other way around :D

The weight difference you felt may well be down to how the setup is balanced, eg and Egg can place more weight on the backend of the marker making it seem heavier to the hand on the frame, a rail etc can also affect this as can many other things.

DM6...

Heavier? yes by around 75g's (negligable?)

But my findings are: (having owned 06 ego and DM6)

-More accurate, theoretically a spool valve will always be more accurate than rammer/bolt design.

-No open, moving parts, meaning much harder to get water/****e inside the gun (and you know how bad the weather can be over here)

-Much quieter, is this better?, i dunno it sounds cool tho.

-Much smoother

-Much less kick

But

-Ego seems better for parts/tech assistance (nicky t is an absolute legend!)

-Easier to maintain (but the DM is by no means hard)

-IMO the ego is easier to get to shoot fast due to the new filters

-Everyone has one so if summat breaks/goes missing at a tourney you will more than likely find someone with a spare or who knows how to fix it.

Its the price that would make my mind up, you can get as new (ie a tourney or two) DM6's for £500ish, or a new Ironman for £750 from heaven whereas the SL66 i doubt you'll get for less that £800 used or £1100 new.

Failing that get a used 06 like the one i just sold in minty fresh condition with ups for £550!...much better value, and you wont notice any difference other than looks with a '66 :)

Are you insane man?;) :D the DM6 is impossible not to shoot fast, mine gets pulled after every game because marshalls think its a cheat gun, they fly, especially when ramping, they ramp on the second pull!!!:D

I've had plenty of ego's and DM6's and the DM6 is by far and away the better gun, and anyone that says they are hard to maintain must be a complete simpleton:D

You can't really go wrong with either.

Personally I love my SL66 but DM6 is nice too.

Only real difference I would have said is that the ego is probably easier to maintain and probably is not as air hungry.

One thing to note on the price is the ego comes will all the legal modes you need, on the DM there is no capped semi (unless it's now been added?) so to play some tourneys you need to fork out another £50+ for a new board or have yours flashed.

Other than that their both fantastic markers, ego probably wins on simplicity/reliability but it's so close you need to see what feels best to you.
