By being up there and feeling that the weather was in no way a factor on sunday is why im p!ssed.
So if it wasn't the weather why would the site owner cancel the event?

It doesn't make any sense. The teams were there, the refs were there, the fields were there, the marquee was there, the air was there.

Why would they cancel and put themselves out of pocket?

PS, what about The Clan, straight up and down from Scotland....I don't hear them complaining!?

Can't control the weather and all that... do feel sorry for our lot that made the journey... even more so as the rest of us were enjoying a nice refreshing beer out in Edinburgh!! :p :p Ironically it was nice weather up there as well... :D

In seriousness though the site in its openess (sp?) is open to the elements down there, same thing happened last year in one of the afternoon sessions didn't it where the wind brought the netting and stuff down?

not knocking the pa for cancelling but the site has had problems with the elements and netting both last year and this, would it not be prudent to use a net system that will stand up to the rigours of britsh summertime given that the fields are in an exposed position. i feel very sorry for teams like jersey warriors and the clan for the time and expense they have incurred for nothing. before any re-arrangements are made i would urge the pa to communicate with all teams to establish how they want play out this postponement.

We had 2 hire cars and paid for 4 hotel rooms so we were considerably out of pocket for the trip but you can't blame the organizers for the weather. The gusts were consideraby more than a fart as when 4 people tried to pick up the netting in an attempt to raise it, it acted like a sail and picked 2 of them up off their feet.

Out of pocket???? Do we not pay upfront then?? So whos out of pocket for that event?? Yeah i know they will add another event or give teams an average score but either way this will cost teams in the long run either by cost or the posiblity of a win in that event.

Ok they may have cancelled it due to the weather but my point is if they could not get the netting up staurday and there was a strong chance of it not going up sunday why not just cancel it and stop the teams and traders the inconvenience of travelling.

Very true, as a company/ business it will not be very profitable in the long run having to cancel events due to this situation.

Who's gonna pay for the marquee that hardly got used?

Who's gonna pay HPAC for turning up?

Would the traders pay if they couldn't trade?

Did all the teams pay for not playing? Not all teams pay for the full season at the start of the year.

Fair point, Events insurance would cover cost like these .
