Thank you very much! Im also a bit confused on air systems. Does it matter which one you buy? Are some of them incompatible with certain markers?
In general terms any air system will do.
On an older basis, or still on some purely rental sites there are CO2 systems.
These are unsuitable for most electro markers.
You would expect to use HPA compressed air at a walkon site etc, and the DM12 will need that
There can be a difference in the output pressure of the fitted regulator, and some are adjustable.
Certain markers need a particular output pressure, but the DM12s inline regulator should handle most of the normal ranges.
There is a lot of choice in cylinders:
The simple and cheapest option is a ‘standard’ 3000psi aluminium cylinder costing in the region of £30/£40 new
They are cheap enough to not bother with getting them tested after 5 years
Fibre wrapped cylinders offer a range of shapes and sizes plus the potential of taking a higher pressure fill up to 45000psi, and is a little lighter. These cost from £150, and are an investment that will need to be tested every 5 years
There are also ‘ultra lights’ which are much lighter
If in doubt get a standard aluminium 3000psi, then when you’re more experienced you will have an idea of which fibre wrap will meet your needs (if you actually need it rather than just wanting a more sexy cylinder )
