Hi, so who can explain how PL markers come about, how you can find out what ones exist (past and present) and how they get into Joe public's hands? Interested in as much detail as someone cares to share as am sure there is lots to tell on the subject :)

For it to be private lable - needs to come from factory.

There was a huge post done about PL Planet Eclipse guns back in like 2011 by nicky t.

Generally these days, private lable can be obtained alot more easily (just pay more money) and even alot of pro team editions are just custom prints where as back in the day they may have had prototype performance parts.

Rare marker guide:-

As for how they come into being, Planet work with the team on the design artwork, as far as I know.

Team guns go into general circulation when the team is given (or has to pay for) next season's gear.

Some teams are "given" markers (depending on who they are and how successful they are). So the players sell their spare guns to pay for rent, air fare, whatever.

Others have to pay X amount for next season's package - say, marker, loader, goggles etc. So they sell the previous season's gear to fund the next season.

Ah back in the day companies such as Smart Parts, Bob Long, Planet et al made specific guns for teams to generate interest in their markers.

Smart Parts were one of the companies that went the whole hog with completely specialised milled markers for their teams which were made in small batches for general sale to Joe public. Many of these still cross hands for decent cash.
