I'm 48. I first played way back in 1989, running around in the woods in olive green overalls, uvex goggles & a Splatmaster that struggled to send a paintball any further then 20 yards! But I absolutely loved it!
Over the next few months I had kitted myself out with a JT mask, assassin hood, tiger stripe camo's & a nicely tricked up second hand Bushmaster that I bought from Belsales in Farnborough (anyone remember them? If I remember rightly, I think they had a lot to do with Barts Stud Squad).
Over the next couple years I improved my kit further (a Bud Orr Sniper 2) & had started a 5 man team with some mates & was playing regularly in novice tourneys, mostly at the NTF in Birmingham or SAS at Maidenhead. Unfortunately my paintball career was cut short by a messy marriage break up at the end of 92. Even though I've played a fair few punter days over the years since, it's not been since both my son's have got into paintball that the bug has bitten again. They keep pestering me to get myself some entry level kit & join them in going to walk-on days at our local site. I'm well tempted, but am I too old to start again???
I keep telling them that woodsball is where it's at, but I would love to have a crack at the modern game. I'll have to find a site that does OAP days, lol.
