If for nothing else so people like yourself can get a few ideas before spending on the first thing you like to look of. Never shot a Gtek3 so don't know how old etc it is, I'll leave that for better people, but you'll want a decent motorised hopper to keep up if you've got an itchy trigger finger, dunno if that "green hopper" counts but thought I'd mention it.

Go to your local site talk to the walkon players "we love showing our gear off" see what they use. Etek 3 is a good marker ive had 2 of them lol best hopper would be either rotor or spire imo

What would you say is a goood start off marker to go for. Should I get a. New one or buy a secound hand one

Second hand to maximize your investment IMHO. What budget are you looking at?
As said buy a decent mask first and Knee pads. Never play without knee pads as your knees take a pounding even in speedball.
Dont spend to much money as so many people splash out loads and then decide after a couple of times its not for them and lose lots of money selling all there stuff off.

Second hand empire Halo 2 powered hopper is a good start then you could get a rotor or spire.
Brand new steelie bottle as you save little buying second hand (unless you get one with your marker)

If you can find one a second hand Gtek (£250+) or etha 2 (£350+) are really good starts.

Geo 3 is a good piece of kit although a IV core definatly improves it.
