I always like to start these types of threads as there is always such a diverse array of people united in a common sport.

I am Dan from Manchester and I am a Fire and Explosion protection engineer. Deal with various clients one managing their fire risks, explosive atmospheres and I design and implement safety systems to suit their needs.

What about you?

That job sounds awesome! What qualifications do you need for that? And where do I apply? Haha

I'm Jamie from stapleford (stabbo as it's known around here) it's not that bad actually ;) and I'm a vehicle technician, just posh way of saying grease monkey mechanic! Just diagnose, fix, mot and anything else to do with cars ;)

To be honest, qualification wise you don't need anything specific other than GCSE levels. The industry specific training is what counts and I know plenty of good engineers who haven't got university degrees.

Might do a little research for a career change, getting a bit stagnant in this trade, and need more money... For paintball haha
