My votes for the Ion too. Think there'd be a lot less players about today without it.
And as for the evolution of the platform we're probably on the 4th iteration of the platform now if you break it down.

I'm not a Shocker fan to be honest the shoe box turbo put me off them circa 2000. I still have one in the collection I'll post up a pic tomorrow, while I appreciate there has been a quantum leap forward since then with the platform.
The Ego 5. What a marker! that was the electro perfected and I may be wrong but it took what the Impulse platform started and took it to the next level.
The first truly reliable popet electro? Probably and dam they were sexy and built by the boys in Farnborough/Aldershot (Belsales) if I'm not mistaken. I still have to stay with the Cocker tho but the Ego 5 is a future classic all day long!!

I have added a poll to this thread thought it would be fun. I'll add additional markers as they are put forward but not individual variants as otherwise the list will be endless. So just vote for the series of marker instead if you so choose to keep things simple.

The greatest gun of all time has to be the Tippmann 98. No other gun has come close as a rental marker and fundamentally that's where we all started. With one of those in our hands not knowing what the f**k is going on and loving every second of it.
Favourite gun of all time has to be my 96 eclipse autococker. Nothing gives me more pleasure and more frustration than that gun. When she works she takes names but then she does what all pre-97 cockers do and piles in for absolutely no reason at all. It makes me smile. All the time.

Add in the Luxe to that list since DLX is/was smart parts in disguise.
The 98 or an inferno is a good shout too, it's what most of us first tried and fell in love with the game using before we found something else to shoot.
My favourite marker would be a shocker though, I may have a couple sitting around. I love their design and that the limited edition ones (Dynasty, Octance, Tremor, Russian Legion, Dark, Ton Ton, Strange, Evil, Shocktech etc) were milled differently. It wasn't just a simple colour change, I love their character, simplicity to look after and how they feel to shoot. I love the fact you can pick one up for less than £100 now and still keep up with everything out there.

I didn't include the Luxe because I consider that to be an evolution of the Shocker platform. I included the RSX though because even though it's a Shocker by name, the bolt system is for all purposes the same as the Ion's but much more refined.
