Another thing to be aware of when using smokes is that they can be very effective if used while under tree canopy as it prevents the smoke from dispersing as much. Same goes as stated by others when thrown into buildings.

I see people throw a smoke on our fields open maps all the time and they are useless.

In my opinion smoke bombs are useless in fields. Its good only in buildings...

Not really, maybe in CQC situations going room to room but the stuff we are actually allowed to use, very sensibly, is fairly weak compared to the military stuff so doesn't really work like there's do.

We threw 10 EG18X Enolya Gaye smoke grenades in that game, you could not see a single thing
