If people have paid by PayPal, is there a claim there because the event is not as originally advertised?

Surely if enough people filed a claim PayPal would have to take notice?

I think barnett is indulging himself at the expense of his customers [again] - he knows full well there are several things concerning this event that won't go down to well with those who possess an IQ above their shoe size, and so he does a repackaging job.

And this is done in the guise of 'special' enhancements to the game itself.
When you blow away all the smoke and smash all the mirrors, you're left with an individual who's going down the tubes making a desperate attempt to claw in some cash but he's acutely mindful of this event's shortcomings - And so what does he do?
He creates back-doors for himself in the pre-event conditions of play in case it all goes ass up .... If and when it does, he can point back at these conditions and point the finger of blame toward the players.

Talk about getting sold down the river :/

I just want to address the Tim de Groot/Black widow issue for a moment..

Sheree, I'm intrigued as to why you have received the blame for this. I've no reason to doubt you when you say you have no idea what's going on. That's not to say you couldnt be talking **** anyway but I have no reason to belive that's the case.

That said, if you are infact Sparticus then you must have your reasons for leaking the post, what those reasons are I shall not ask, however should you feel the need to voice those reasons, we will be waiting.

Now let's consider that you are telling the truth (which I believe is the most likely), then it would be logical to conclude that the leak is not plugged, it may possibly just be temporarily stoppered.

But consider this, why you?

Why have you fallen victim to the witch hunt and possibly more importantly, after your treatment would you wish to rejoin the village after they were so ready with torch and pitchfork?

Ok I hate having to be in this kind Of thing but just to answer your question... And I'm not hating on anyone but fed up of being made out to be a liar or whatever.

Those that know me will know I'm honest, hardworking and have done what I want in paintball.
No it's not me I've been a shoreline marshal for yrs so why would I leak this when I could leak more incriminating stuff but that's between me and those involved...
the only reason I feel this has happened is because I've now joined the misfits (never had any other offers so why wouldn't I join a team rather than attending games alone and having no one there) and going out with someone from there who supposedly bad mouthed him which is utter rubbish. If that was the case why is he not blocked.

The links I can only assume is because I talk to both gareth and Duncan who is hated (sorry boys for naming) but it's all I can come up with. I've spoken to everyone in pb before I joined so why now..
Funny how no one has even contacted me to find out the truth just instant block. Even those I though I was close with.

It's def f'ed up my friendships I thought I had and now because of this my bf is taking the blunt of it because I'm crying all the time, negative even though I'm trying not to and think I've gone into a depressive state. So who ever it is thanks you've ruined my life for what joining a team.

Rather than get upset and depressed about it, thinking they have 'ruined your life' you should look on this positively as having found out these 'friends' true colours.

It's a gang/cult mentality. You are not allowed to have any ties to any opposers of that gang/cult as that shows disloyalty. You've now effectively been 'kicked out' of the gang and the whole point is to show you how important they are.

In truth you are now free to do what you like. Those people that are really of any worth you will continue to see anyway as they will already socialise outside of that small controlling circle. Those that won't talk to you aren't worth your time anyway.

I'm sure you'll soon be branded a 'hater', 'non-playing goober' and any other number of the standard put downs. Take the name calling and wear it with pride as a badge of self-reliance and independence. It says more about those doing the name calling than those subject to it.

Your reference to 'more incriminating stuff' implies to me that you've already seen things you didn't agree with so already started to feel there is something wrong within that group anyway.

Don't get down about it. Go play other events and be around people that don't demand your unwavering compliance just to be your 'friends', where you are worrying what you can and can't do or say.

The thing is I've always done what I want, played where I wanted, marshalled where I wanted and always had ties with everybody, fgs me and dunc were on the same team and nothing.

Now I'm in a team again after what 4 or 5 years it's suddenly blown up.

I'm used to not having people talk to me outside of pb. But I'm not use to people thinking I've done something when I haven't and not even bothering to see the truth.

Anyway hopefully that's the end of it and I'm going now to view housing and apply for jobs which is what I've been doing past two weeks when all this has supposedly kicked off...

Black Widow. Sabotage is a great tool, especially when it's designed to disrupt this thread. I'm sure we all are sympathetic to your plight, and as you know this is a rally for those who have been stiffed by Dim or are being warned about him. If you read what has gone down with others your portion of the hate is very small, be thankful for that.

Onto SOA and the nature of this thread. Powderball is very expensive, so if Dim has a cash flow issue he will shoot the cheapest "special" paint there is to maximise the income.

Senny, and the zombielard games demonstrate that he is comfortable with making a mess, and leaving it.

I would speculate that the gagline to the venue owner was, great bunch of blokes, will only shoot a few paintballs as the games are designed that way, afterwards they will nip round with some Mr Sheen and clean up the odd splat here and there. Don't bother about attending, we're professionals, we will be in and out overnight and away as if no one had ever been there.

First thing its bloody ridiculous that projectiles can be shot over the wall onto a domestic residentual area? Health and Safety, duty of care and all that out the window again. The players should be demanding to see the Risk Assessments for the venue, especially the slips, trips and falls. Has Dim even got insurance for this now that Shoreline Events is no longer trading?

Unprofessional, dangerous and a complete liability to others.

Public Liability insurance isn't a legal requirement. In the event of a claim, it would simply be directly against a company or individual. The limited company is liable so he's already shown form there; if there was a direct claim them just ditch the company and start another. The only recourse then would be trying to bring a personal liability for negligence of a Director for not ensuring the company complied with HASAWA and MHASAWR.

As for paint, it's already been shown that a clean up crew is needed so it will be standard paint being used. You wouldn't need to wipe down for reballs, plus 1000 reballs per player is expensive, as would be powder balls.

To be honest, it's down to players to decide if this stuff is important, but most won't until an accident happens.

Having said all the above, it was TB himself that told everyone they should explicitly ask organisers to post evidence of their PL insurance (after the Mall game and in response to Urban Paintball starting to promote), but has never done so himself. He once posted an insurance letter quote but, as I pointed out at the time, that doesn't prove anyone actually took out the policy. There has never been any cover note or certificates shown.
