If you read the players pack for SOA2, it is very, very damning.
Basically, from what i've read over the last few months about SOA2 it was meant to cost no more than £100 for the ticket, food, drink, accommodation and unlimited paint etc A cell with your own loo and showers.
Then when it was released, it was £75 - but a sneaky compulsory £50 for an 'induction pack'. So £125. Oh, and now you get 1000 balls. Squash. Toilets don't work. Maybe a shower - who knows? Oh, and maybe not a bed. So bring a camp bed or roll mat.
He also said not long ago, that the Anthrax Sponsored Party will have free drinks. Now it has no free drinks. In fact, no booze will be sold there.
And you have to get there between 9am and 9:15am. If you are a bit late, no entry. And parking is at an NPC car park... so more fees.
So many caveats in the players pack saying "laid back game. never played a prison before. games may not work. Be mature, if it is **** sit it out and play the next game."
He also says to bring cash for the induction pack etc as he cannot comment on the mobile signal so may not get a reception for a card reader... it's in Shrewsbury Center. There will be mobile coverage - in fact
http://www.which.co.uk/technology/phones/reviews-ns/best-mobile-phone-networks/mobile-phone-coverage-map/
Enter the postcode SY1 2HR and you'll see it has strong mobile coverage there. You'll get at least 3G coverage there on most networks, maybe even 4G (which penetrates into buildings better).
Reason that he's saying that? Probably lost card facilities when he closed down Shoreline Events Ltd or he wants to keep everything cash in hand to avoid taxes?
I feel sorry for the visitors on Monday Morning when it re-opens for tours to the public... imagine how poor the state of the place will be left in with no proper clean up crews. At least he's had his game there; and ****ed it up for any other event organisers (who'd put on a better game).
