Hi All,
A long time ago the Hitmen were a 3rd division team run by Frank Dinnage in Essex. As well as playing tournaments the majority of us took the E.P.S.F course and became Approved Tournament martials... At the time UK martials were trusted above all by the countries in international events as being the most impartial referees.

As you can see my martial number is 2054 - the embroidered badge was from being invited to martial the Masters in 97 that was held in Paris... :

After all this time does this qualification mean anything anymore?

No replies?... I'm guessing then that international martial qualifications don't exist now then... Shame :(

In short, no.

I, too, did the EPSF course many years ago, and yes, it was respected. But like many things, with the passage of time it has been forgotten. And of course, the EPSF became the UKPSF.

I began reffing under Adrian Saunders and the Mayhem Masters ref crew of 1993, and went on from that to ref all over the UK, Europe, the Far East and the USA.

The situation now, in mainland Europe, is that the Millennium Series refs are the dominant force. They tend to recruit by word of mouth. The head CPL ref is Jabba, a Brit. He's a good chap.

In the USA, you have the NXL refs. These were originally PSP refs, and they have an ongoing program of ref clinics usually just prior to each event.

As far as the UK goes, the dominant series is the CPPS. This is like going to a Millennium event, only much cheaper and with fewer Germans.

If you want to ref the CPPS, just shoot Ainsley Baddeley a message on FB, or better still, come down to the CPPS 7 man on 3 October.

Hope that helps.
