Can you post air bottles?

Was just wondering because in the for sale section I see people advertising Air tanks and thought if it was legal to post them?

Well shops manage to post them, though couriers are probably your best option, of course they need to be completely empty of pressure.

I've used UPS to post one back to a supplier, unpressurised. It did cost a bit (£17!) but I think they're one of the few who accept bottles.

A lot of others don't allow it.
