They will never really be comparable because of the honour system of airsoft.
You can't call airsoft a sport when it's impossible to actually prove who has been eliminated.
If you like taking on an alternate character and playing soldiers with a bit more realism then play airsoft, if you want something with competition then play paintball.

As someone who enjoys the competition of striving to be the best at what I do, I don't think I'll ever be compatible with airsoft. At least not while the aim is about who looks the most realistic and the win is decided by who feels like being the most honest.

I'd give it a try, can't say it's crap or anything as haven't done it before. I love PB. But with all you can do with PB to be fair I have no reason to look elsewhere.

Sorry to hear your circumstances of losing the love. Did you contemplate just leaving the team and playing with others or relaxing how much you play and game types etc?

I remember the first time I played paintball (Not too long ago in fact) and seeing all the airsoft people getting their kit out. I love the way it actually looks as if your going into a real battle (even if the kits expensive)

Though I was slightly put off after seeing videos where people got their teeth knocked out.

I've considered airsoft but not actually tried it as the appeal wasn't enough for me to give it a go. However, I wouldn't knock anyone else, paintballer or otherwise, for giving it a go and loving airsoft the way I love paintball. If they get the same excitement and joy from playing airsoft then good luck to them, they are probably paying considerably less than I am paying to play :p

I've played both . Once even played an airsoft vs paintball. Didn't end to well. Think it was more the fact it was 3 ballers against me.
