Don't know if this is too late but here's my contribution.
Haven't had a shot on the Ego (i am considering getting a tourney marker) but i have both the Dam and x7 phenom. Both are fantastic markers but largely the limitations depend on what you want from your marker (magfed/efficiency/easy maintenance etc).
X7 phenom - This is a great and reliable marker that i suggest you hold onto if you can. The main points are
- really easy to maintain / open up
- can switch to mechanical (for that moment you find your battery has died)
- can take CO2 (for the sites that don't use Air)
- There aren't really any "flaws" on this workhorse.
Dam - a great marker if you want to have the flex of moving between woods/tourney. Granted its not the tourney marker of choice but imo it's the most versatile for those who want the best of both. Key points
- can go magfed
- Shoots first strike
- on the fly switching between mag/hopper (x7 fails on this if you have a mag conversion kit)
- the above 3 were what ticked my boxes
- can still strip down for tourney (remove shroud and stock)
- box rotor (but I don't have one)
- Main drawback is that it does requires a degree of maintenance and some knowledge of how to do so.
It's certainly harder to open up than the phenom. However, it has easy access to pull bolt and barrel
I'm not taking anything away from the Ego, but just saying decide on what you're looking for in a marker and find the one that ticks as many boxes as possible.
