Thanks for replying, i honestly had no idea there were 3 types to choose from so ill do some research and see which appeals most to me,
I have saved around £1000 to use for my first kit and am located in Cheshire, i aim to play once every weekend at least. Also hope to attend events i find on here.
Sorry for such a vague first post.

No problem, everyone starts with a limited knowledge and this forum is the best way to get more answers. But doing your research is key... you will get pointers on what to consider, but you need to be informed to avoid poor purchase decisions
With 1k, you wont have a problem getting kit for any format. Your first purchase should be a decent mask, these are often a personal choice but YouTube will help you see reviews for the Vios (my favourite), Grillz, i4s, Eflexs etc
If you spend 80-100 on a decent mask and a spare lens, then you should be thinking about the following
marker
loader
air system
pack
protection / pads (knee and elbow)
playing pants / jersey
footwear
kit bag
Choosing a marker will be either buy new or previously owned. Like cars you will get more value with preowned, but you take a risk as there is no warranty etc. Manufacturers like Planet Eclipse offer excellent support for markers out of warranty
What I suggest is you find a walkon, go along and get talking to the players there. You will get some guidance before you buy, they may even let you shoot a few balls over a range to get the feel
