Cons - lower bps, can't just fire again if you miss.

Pros - saves paint, makes you think about your shots, perfect tool to blame when you're being a bad workman.

Pro: travel lighter and run faster. Play in any environmental condition, unlike markers requiring batteries. Good way to play with recballers if you have them outgunned otherwise. Cheaper!

Con: can have a steep learning curve if you play with a lot of semi-auto players (ref. Canon Fodder's post with rate of fire). Often picked last for recball teams, if that matters to you. Can cause hurt feelings on the airball field. Addicting.

Pros: a lot of fun, able make half a case last a day, no batteries to forget, cheaper to use, addictive, makes you think about your playing style and what your doing.
Cons: addictive, as said a learning curve, follow up shots can be harder to make.

one little bit of advise i'd give is back bottle pumps have imo a horrendous form factor due to the placement of the tank, so try to get one that can take an an asa off the bottom plus it makes the transition easier if your tank placement is thee same as on your normal marker.

This is particularly good advice, I can't shoot for sh*t with back bottle unless I use a 13 ci bottle.

Excellent advice on back bottles
With any paintball gun ergonomics make a vast difference. It it feels right then it works

'Back bottle' designs (where the bottle is screwed directly behind the main 'gun line') can reasonably easily be converted to an asa at the bottom of the grip:
Obviously add a female asa on the bottom to receive the bottle, and a macro line or braided hose, then a male asa (such as with remote lines*) and fittings as required for the macro line / braided line

* with most remote line ASAs the nipple can be unscrewed and replaced with an appropriate fitting

Pros- will help increase accuracy, slows down any trigger happy fingers, make you think about your playing style, makes paintball cheaper.

Cons- Pump play is so much fun, i don't use any on my other markers... my main pump is an older marker and it can be difficult to find spares
