Don't feel obliged to buy gear, get as much hands on as possible, ideally get to a walkon or event to see what's around and what people use

your number one piece of kit to look at, is a mask.
People will say "get an i4" or "get JT" etc etc etc....
A mask is the most important piece of kit to buy! so make sure you try on a few different ones before you buy, best thing to do, go to Bricketwood on a weekend and speak to the guys that are playing. Ballers love showing off their kit so will be more than happy to let you try their stuff out. most will let you have a shoot of their makers too so you can find one you like, then have a shop around the classifieds to see if there are any second hand ones going.

I've shot a dye Dm but that's outta my price range, and I'm based in basildon so I go to mayhem and work at delta force
