I have no idea who you are, your history or what you think your doing but I don't like your tone either.

So goodbye.

Well, seeing it's my birthday today and I'm supposed to be in a good mood, I will take you at your word and reinstate your original user name but ...... I'll explain all when I get back from the meal my wife is now taking me to :)

I don't think this guy means any harm. Just an old codger who doesn't type much.

from someone who was around 'back in the day', most of what he's writing is pretty accurate, but for some reason he isn't giving the Nam boys the credit they are due. NWC were always on the Preds shoulder. Barts Stud Squad and Short timers came before that, right at the beginning, they were done by the time the real Preds/NWC rivalry kicked into gear, as were most of these other teams, Bad Company etc. It was the Preds and NWC that lasted. They absorbed the better talent from the other teams, making it pretty much a 2 horse race for several years.

If this guy left the UK in 91, he simply does not know the full story.

Missy q, I can only say what I know from before the end of 91 as that was when I left, I joined here to see what is happening with paintball these days in the UK, probably going to visit the cold gloomy UK this summer and thought a couple of games would be a good idea, anyway robbo, we never had problems, and I hope you had a good birthday event though you didn't reinstate my original nick, not that it matters, doubt anybody cares :)

edited for missus q, old codger? I'm only 45, bloody cheeky whipper snapper :)

I'm afraid you qualify as a codger these days, yes. I'm not far behind you though!

You should really look at the "interview with Marcus Davis" that Pete did. It would ring a few bells for you, and if you don't mind me saying so, it should 'set you straight' on Pete's relationship with Marcus, both now and back in the day.
Yes, you left the UK right when it was getting interesting. Pre-91 were the formative years. UK Tournament ball got more organised and a lot more professional after that.

I watched the marcus interviews, pretty good and honest, marcus was always a straight shooter though, back in the day though nwc just had a team, barts won everything, short timers always good, many other teams out perforformed nwc everyday, they were all too big, play in an ancient forest and their players shoulders stuck out each side of the tree, much too easy to shot out, I admit after 91 I have no idea, did they all slim down down or go for older woodlands :)

Anyone know what happened to Apocalypse? i had a mate that joined them after Corrosion split. would be cool to find him again now that i am back.

@ Crawler78

Apocalypse is still going: www.apocalypsepaintball.co.uk

Only 2 originals left though, the rest of us moved on aloooooooooooooong time ago, and I'm pretty sure they don't do tourneyball anymore.

Two corrosion guys joined us Chip (Cjohns) and guy called James (Jamphi). Chip got posted back to the US in 2003, and only had a couple of games with us, James went on to some fantastic stuff, but gave up to concentrate on his career.

Rooster also rotated back to the US in 2004 I think!! They were some fun times!!

Apocalypse are still very much alive and well, and have been running tourneys every year since I've been there (4 years now)

Does anyone ko what happened to a team called Ground Zero?
Rat

Ground Zero was a team based out of New York, financed by - I think - Jerry Braun, who ran Paintball Sports Magazine and also owned a field in New York state.

The team had lots of talent on the roster - Nicky Cuba, the Lundqvist brothers, Dennis Mood, Robert Rose and Will Arroyo, and were quite successful in the late 90's/early 2000's.

They went through a number of roster losses and additions, notably the Blonksi brothers, and with the advent of X-Ball, they became New York Extreme but struggled to adjust to the fomat and eventually disbanded.

Hope this helps.

Yep. That was the game that Jerry Braun played for them and fell over, I think.

Now, K2 is one team I would like to see get back togther!

Thinking about it, they did have a reunion in summer 2008, when they played what was to become the CPPS - I was lucky enough to play a couple of games for them.
