Nope. usually a clear single pane. I never had an issue with my standard clear lens, only replaced it because it got a bit of a dinger on it right in front of one eye.

The default one is not thermal if you buy it off the shop. (I brought mine from an official shop), I had the option of buying a thermals lens (but only separately). You may be able to buy the mask online or from different stores that come default with a thermals lens.

I might be confusing myself with a dual layer lens. (mine is single layer)

Sorry to be that guy, but yes the stock lense is thermal

You're confusing it with a dual layer lense. The grillz come as standard with a single pane, thermal coated lense. The thermal coating can peel though, after either a lot of use of mistreatment.
