I actually sent an email to them talking about walkon's and I won't be able to make it to play but I'm sure I could get down and have a look around for an hour or so plus my sister lives that way so I kill two birds with one stone :)

thanks for the suggestion

we've just started and are currently using "Extcy" good little marker for newbies (Cheap marker) one below Etha,
But ive used Geo, Etek and a quick go with a Luxe
Generally the more you spend the quicker, quitter, more reliable your marker will be but all I would say before you spend over £500 is can you out fire a £120 marker ?
I was only asking the same questions as you a couple of weeks ago as my kit was over 10yrs old (wow!)
And I was looking at the same markers and thinking oooooo mmmmmm oooooooo but it was just coming down to which looked the prettiest !
So I would say don't spend all your money straight away when you start playing tourney there are around 50 guys there all with at least one thing to sell ! (and belive me a hell of a lot more cheaper than online)

We are team FNV (Southampton based) Just done our first tournament at Gribbs Cup yesterday are kit is cheap but we get to play and that is good enough for me. (For now lol)

Any current electric force fed hopper.
They all are capable of the allowed bps rate so unless there's a specific feature you want then it's any of them

If you have plenty funds a rotor is the most often recommended, and at £80 they hold there second hand value, as people will always buy them off you.
A few people I know have moved to the virtue spire

Hoppers such as the above have 'enhanced features' such as quick disassembly for cleaning etc.
However, if that may be a deciding feature consider how valuable that is to you - how often do you need to get inside and clean up your hopper. Or if you are playing tournament a quick clean between games when needed could be very desireable, or you could pack two cheaper force fed hoppers for less than one premium hopper and get your pit crew to clean it. (If you are playing tournaments with a fast turn around you of course have spare guns ready anyway - don't you?)

Next are 'less premium' force feed hoppers such as the halo too / halo b. I would recommend the halo too as it is sound activated rather than eye activated. (I use a halo too) Very few will be too quiet to be heard by the halo, and sound activation to feed resolves the eye problems a few people have with clear paint at special venues
These are priced reasonably new, and pop up as bargains second hand

I would ignore older agitated hoppers which are the old generation electric hoppers. With force feeds available at a good price their is little point buying not of these (I still use a couple myself but that's because they still work - I would not buy one now)

Hi mate,

Until about a month ago a group of us played regularly (almost weekly) at Mayhem South East in Sidcup (the Ruxley site you mentioned), usually small 3-5 a side walkon games but great fun, with MSE also running a league for novice/intermediate players. Unfortunately that's finished now and walkons are no longer allowed to just turn up and play at MSE sites. To make up for it, a couple of players are organising a monthly MSE walkon here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/msewoc/?fref=ts

I think their first event will be at MSE's Longfield site near Dartford on 25 May.

As mentioned above there is Campaign.

Mayhem Essex (unrelated to MSE) run a monthly walkon which is a lot more established and their details are here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/mayhemwalkon/?fref=ts It's the wrong side of the river, but well worth the 45 min drive, with some excellent fields and facilities.

If you're looking to give speedball a try, Bricket Wood near St Albans is the place to go, just over an hour's drive away. J&L run a monthly training day for all abilities (last weekend I had my second day on a sup air field, right up to a guy who's playing in Bitburg in a couple of weeks) and their details are here: https://www.facebook.com/JandLPaintball?fref=ts
