Ive just started and bought a halo too hopper and seems to work just as well as any £100+ hopper think i paid £60 for a brand new one, i bought a proto rail and for my first marker works great very accurate but i think the dye ultralite barrel i bought helps

Sie was closer with mentioning a Proto Rail, however just for reference please note that 'marker' is a term used for a paintball gun, originating from the paintball guns initial purpose of forestry and livestock marking particularly with regard to early paint which was oil based and designed to stay on what it was shot at - literally marking trees and livestock

As time progressed and paintball became established as a game oil based paint began to be avoided so that it could be washed off and to reduce staining

A hopper can be defined as 'a container for a loose bulk material such as grain, rock, or rubbish, typically one that tapers downward and is able to discharge its contents at the bottom'
It should not be hard to identify why typical loader in paintball are refered to as hoppers

A rotor and a halo too are not markers!

I would say the proto rail or the etha. I have owned an etha and it was reliable and shot well and the rail because everyone who I know who has owned one has said that they love it and could't fault it.

Set a budget, get the most you can for it dont shy away from second hand markers, most will get looked after so you should be ok, Planet Eclipse markers are a great marker for most new players such as Etha or Etek as they are 99.9% bullet proof, then later on down the road you can look at upgrading to something high end,

Your best bet if you want a alughtly cheaper hopper is the halo too but if you wanna spend more than £60 for the halo there are second hand hoppers on here such as the rotor, prophecy or spire that can range from £70-£110 so this forum can help you get better items for cheaper but just second hand

I've fired the new Proto Rail and damn they are smooth! They are simple with no on/off asa, but from what I have head the maintenance is easy, they are reliable and hard wearing/working. If you are on a budget I would 100% go for one!

On the other hand the second hand market for paintball is incredible, we seem to be a community that looks after each other and you can always pick up bargains either on here or on your local B/S/T facebook group, you just have to stay active and look out for good deals.

Good luck with your purchase!

Stay well away from the protos, mini and etha are both about on par, decent budget markers, you will be able to pick up an axe or etek for around the 200 mark, a step up from both the mini and etha.

I don't mean to get in an argument, but can I ask why you say stay well away from Protos? Im curious as to what you don't like about them..
