So its all about how you play? (Woodsball)
Precisely how you play, and not necessarily the type of paintball you play
Though a speedballer may be able to predict the paint they will shoot per game, if they are going to be sat firing ropes then other than getting eliminated they can assess their paint by the length of a game, multiply that by the number of games per day.
Playing punter games the amount per game can vary considerable - attacking an area can mean shooting little, then bursts of fire in a main 'attack', defending that area can mean one corner shoots constantly as attackers try to pick you off, or even nothing if you're defending the back door and no one comes that way
When playing punter games I would initialy split 1000 paintballs with my buddy as that was the optimum price. Then around half way through the day we would assess how far the paint has gone and consider whether to split another 1000 and have a good shoot out for the rest of the day, or if we had not shot so much and would only buy extras as up to 500. Probably spending around £50 each
After running our first event at that site we gained extra discounts, but instead of paying less as we had a discount we would spend about the same total for the day and shoot more paint
Then with the move from punter days or walkons which were a number of games per day, progressing to scenarios with non stop games there was more time spent in game. But the game was played differently - instead of more paint for more time, there would be more time spent moving around, or looking for objectives.
So that meant the same or less paint for more time in game
