Ah the site is only about 20/30 minutes from MK! Thanks, that sounds good to me! Keep an eye on the website just incase I forget!
I don't think he can post on the trading section yet...

Anyway, he should try some markers, both electronic and mechanical, before he decides what to get.

Hey jack, its ian. I think you have your wires crossed about the site. A mech is better for our site as walk-on days are few and far between, so site rules are on a punter day mech only! On any walk-on day steve allows all markers to be used.

Go with Balantin's advice, an etha or axe or even an older model ego are great markers with easy maintenance and great tech support. This all depends on your budget however.

Do this ^^^^^ try as much as possible, if you really want an electronic marker speak to chris and ask him to bring his ego and geo up, that way you can get a feel for the two main types of marker (spool and poppet), and I will bring my automags and cockers up tomorrow, you can have a play o the range with them!

If you have some confidence with the site owner, you can ask he to bring an electro marker set up in semi, no ramping, and will shoot the same as a mechanical one, but less weight, more ergonomics, and of course more fancy. And for the walk-on days, you can set up the ramping mode according to site's rules.

Being a Marshall you should be able to have a look and probably a chance to try some of the guns out there, so don't be shy and ask the ballers you meet to old and have a couple of shoots with their guns.
You will find that most of they will be pleased to hang on their markers to you.

Site owner WON'T allow electos at all on punter days, as they are his bread and butter and doesnt want them complaining that the bloke in playg kit light them up with his "super dooper machine gun". In the last ten years I have been working up the site he has never let anyone (to my knowledge) play with an electo on normal days. Not even the senior marshal like myself and a few of the others!

Well, of course that's the site owner`s decision, and wise enough. But it will cause the same distress on punters if he goes to play with a fancy, real looking, mechanical marker. So he better use the rental ones on punter days, and the one he choose for the walk-ons.

I think thats why a mechanical marker is the best option for me to start with because most of the playing I will do will be on the site I work at and so I won't be able to use an electronic marker anyway!
