Other UK paintball forums flatlining?

As a bit of a forum whore I like to do the rounds of the paintball forums both here and state-side. One thing I've noticed over the last month or so is that the other 'main' UK paintball forums seem to have tumbleweeds blowing through them at the moment. They were always quieter than here, but had their own little clique of users - but now you have to go hunting for a post that isn't from an admin or mod.

Ok so it's the festive season and we're all meant to be Web 2.0 social media dickheads nowadays (yeah right), but the footfall on p8ntballer seems to be unchanged, which begs the question - what's happened to the audiences elsewhere?

SRS answer.

Scenario has fragmented a lot, mainly because of facebook. UK Scenario was always a smaller, quieter forum than P8nt so a downturn in posting will be noticed more than it would be here.

Also the scene kind of peaked during the Super 6 and since then the regular teams and people that made up the backbone of UK Scenario have moved on/apart.

Life goes on, social media trends change. Forums have peaked.

UKS for example, had a high footfall from big game and scenario games banter, proper amounts of it. Scenario is slightly more fragmented now S6 is over and alot of the interaction of those main posters happens on facebook now. Some if not all the organisers prefer to interact via facebook, which I suppose from a company perspective gives them direct access to their customers.

Lot of the spammer, me for example, just dont use any forum as much. Im always viewing, not always posting. Personally I got a bit sick of the bickering so deliberately pulled away a little. I miss the 2009-2012 forum days where Id spend all day slagging of the opposing generals/teams. I dont like the facebook versions of this at all so dont participate.

One day when @niallist steals me to make sps sexy chapter, it might come back ;)

Some forums have peaked - hopefully this isn't one of them

Specialist forums like Automags.org, Customcockers and Intimidators.org still seem very active, maybe because of the dedicated and fanatical following these classic guns have. The bubble does seem to have burst on the scenario/big game front, with a knock on effect for the forums which supported that scene. I also tend to float between forums (paintball or otherwise) but if one fizzles out, I'll vote with my feet and move on elsewhere.

They all hide from you Gadget until you leave, then we pop back on!
Here in Oz is the same, the older forums are dying or have died..FB seems easier for teams to chat etc..P8nt has slowed down too in some ways..just the way it is....we should just pick on Craig again like in the good old days...:)

I float round a few too, in the uk and the states. I look a lot, and don't necessary post.
As I tend to hang around the classifieds, I have noticed that a lot more scenario gear has been appearing on here, I suppose that's a lot to do with other forums being quieter.

In some ways I like the quieter forums, you sometimes get blinding deals, walk on zone, used to be great for long gone players popping on to sell there "vintage" markers.
