Hello From Peterborough

Ok iv been paint-balling about 8 times in my life (age 32) and enjoyed it probably more than i should at my age.
last week i went to Lincoln combat zone and it has given me the bug.
I had already been looking for cheap second hand stuff local to me and found a man and his wife selling the remains of there gear at a fair price.
I believe i now own two smart part Xe's (not sure tho) one with a black hart tournament card in it and the other standard
I'm only telling you what i was told as i had no idea that the markers were so advanced
I will add some pics today i hope and you can give me your thoughts.
One last thing im not to far away from warzone in wisbich and wonderd if there is a shop there as i would like to try on some masks. i see there is a walkon tomorrow didnt know if it a good day to go and have a look.

Hello mate
Right the two guns you have are Smart Parts Ion Xe's. They were designed as entry level tournament markers and were very popular back in their day. Smart Parts used to be a large paintball company that made both low level markers and high end markers for professional teams. They have since gone bust and been replaced by GOG who supply the low level markers and DLX who supply the high end stuff. Fortunately for you there is alot of knowledge and spares floating around for the Ions should you ever need it as they were so popular with walk on players. The blackheart board in the marker is an upgraded board, giving you a wider range of parameters to fiddle with over the stock board. However, for your purposes, the stock board will be fine.
In terms of sites around you....there is Lincoln, one up in Ancaster, and one in Royston which is where I go. Im from near Oakham and it takes me just over an hour to get to Royston. If youre not doing anything in particular tomorrow have a mooch down there as there will be a walk on going on so plenty of people to talk to about masks and kits etc.

Not a problem mate. No they dont sell masks there but there will be people down tomorrow with a variety of masks that you can try. Very important to try a mask before you buy it. Each persons head will suit a different mask. Although if you are looking to buy then London International Paintball, based in Welwyn, are your boys.

No worries. The address for the site is Old North Rd, Royston, Hertfordshire SG8 5JS. Its called Apocalypse Royston. Looks like the lads will be there about 10 so whenever after that should be good. Ill be down there too so if you need a contact just ask for Ollie.
