I agree that the battery life on the R7 camera isn't very good 2hours at most less in the cold

come dinner time I plug an external battery to get through the second part of the day

as I play sup air my gun doesn't really face down that much so allways getting some kind of footage

I have used it in the woods and there was a lot of ground viewing to edit after !

Yeah, I've had that problem. As cool as mounting a camera to the gun is for the occasional kill shot there's an insane amount of time spent looking at the ground in walkon/scenario. I love my goggle mount but unfortunately the loader blocked the shot most of the time. Just got myself a D*fender which based on my quick testing looks like it's gonna negate that problem. I'm on the lookout for a 30mm quick release picatinny rail mount for if i want to switch it to gun mounted though.

Ever thought about Drift?
I know that Visual Reviews (Paintball Channel on YouTube) uses them and they get some good footage, i've seen and used a Drift HD 1080 and they work brilliantly for the cost.
The battery life sucks a bit however what cam doesn't these days?

Swap the battery out in seconds and a new charged one in sorts it quick and easy and can record for hours with a 16GB Card!

Remote control, Wide Angle Rotatable (For all those awkward angles shots) Lens, Water Resistant/Weather proof aswell as Waterproof models to a small depth (3 Metres.) Easy to use LCD Screen, normal camera thread at the bottom for fitting to a tripod etc.
All the stuff you could want all from £120 - £300 if you want the Top End one.

Many mounting options, probably a better mask cam than barrel though due to the wide angle lens this is where a R7 comes into it's own along with it's mounting options!

However just maybe check them out if you haven't got one sorted already.

Check out Action Cameras (Dot Co Dot UK) for all sorts of brilliant cams and good prices.
I also know of a 10% off code if you decided to order to save you some cash.

(Just to mention all praise is given from my personal opinion, i'm not sponsored or endorsed by Drift or Action Cameras in any way. Although I should be a sales rep for them! haha)

Yeah, not quite. After a 30mm ring mount for a ReplayXD camera, something like this but with a quick release system so I don't need to break out the allen keys if I want to remove it from the gun mount for charging or switching to my goggle mount.
Could be a hard find.
The 'ring' mount could do you to take the mount off & charge, ease of swapping to goggle mount a bit harder
I'm thinking of a wing nut to replace the bolts, but would have the 'wings' hanging out even if you could find such a thing that was long enough with a non threaded length

I have a suspicion that once upon a time I saw a quick release system for the 'ring' of a mount, but can't think where or what it was meant for
