Nope, the x7 is a tarted up a5, the x7 Phenom is an entirely different engine.

what did they change on it because I have only looked at the x7 and assumed it could not be massively different

The a5 and the x7 are pretty much the same inline blowback system, I think they managed to squeeze a bit more efficiency from the x7.

Then there is the x7 Phenom which works a bit like an automag.

I was looking at the original x7 a while ago for a woodsball marker but decided to get the etek and just use It for both. was the cheaper option

Best market that I ever owned was MacDev Cyborg 06. All DMs, PMs, EGOs, IONs, etc are poor comparet to Cyborg. Trust me - I had tons of various markers

as for marker anything made by planet eclipse is my personal preference.
