Hi guys just checked out my marker today before heading to a game tomorrow and suddenly the paint is just flying all over the place.

When i got the marker the other week it was consistent and good grouping, but now its acting like a cheep bb gun with the balls sudenly turning and i would say around 1/10 go where im pointing.

Im using 2 sorts of paint Heat and Celtic Paintballs both fired fine when i first tried the marker but not now.

Any ideas as to whats up?

Cheers

If the gun is cycling, the gun is clean, the velocity is good and your paint is all over the place then the paint is usually at fault.

Have you done the usual first troubleshooting step... replace the battery? Lots of issues occur with an ego / battery, so worth spending a couple of quid on a new one. It tends to cure most issues!

I presume that the paint bore is matched to the barrel. If you shot last weekend it would have swelled given the temp... so as it's cooled down, it might now be fractionally smaller

Cheers mate, swapped battery and shooting well again now.
how the hell can the battery affect it though?

Firstly not all batteries are the same... Second, the gauge on the Ego LCD can give a false sense of security, and I'd always recommend changing a battery before an event or a day's play

I've seen a battery with a high value on the indicator and fire multiple shots with an issue... but could fire a single shot. I presume the demands on the battery create slight differences in solenoid operation, which is enough to change the volume of air. In doing so the inconsistency creeps in with the difference air pressures within the Ego when fired

If battery consumption seems abnormal, bear in mind that having the battery connected will always create some drain, plus the BBSS and Solenoid will also increase this. Unplug them and if the battery drains then your board may have an issue.
