ren, all credit to barnett for rearranging?
I suppose you could say that yeah but what's more likely is, the real motive wasn't so much rescuing the event for the players' sake but he was rescuing the pound notes of his wallet.
If he truly did rescue it for the players then why isn't that same degree of 'customer care' being shown in terms of a refund for dissatisfied players?
You can't have it both ways ren ....

So let me get this straight Robbo, correct me if I'm wrong but you're saying that Tim should swallow a massive loss because the MOD changed it's plans? As an individual, a £65 loss isn't massive. But for a small business losing thousands could be crippling.
Do you organise events? If so, do you choose 'risky' venues like MOD sites that could be cancelled or do you go for the 'safe' options of established paintball sites? I'm curious.

Because from a business sense, if you were solely out to make money as the consensus here seems to be regarding Tim, you wouldn't choose to risk large amounts of money setting up games at risky venues. The possibility of the MOD or whoever else pulling out and leaving you massively out of pocket with tonnes of paint you can't really sell wouldn't be worth it, would it.
The only reason to put these events on, in my opinion, is to offer us ballers somewhere amazing to play.
I really cannot believe your attitude in this post but seeing as it comes from one of barnett’s acolytes, maybe I shouldn’t be that surprised.
Who the frikkin hell do you think you are when telling people £65 quid ain’t that much to lose – you sound like Marie Antoinette with a comment like that …
Some of those guys who paid that money over probably had to save for that and for you to write them off so disrespectfully, is an insult.

barnett’s MO is extremely easy to work out, he will do whatever it takes to make as much money as he can out of people, end of!
His motive for putting it on at Sennybridge was quite simple, he knew it would attract players; the problem is, those very same people who got pulled in because it was at Sennybridge are the very same people who he needs to reimburse if they so choose.
Normally, I would rebut every single point someone like you would make but I’m gonna plead the P8ntballer.com 1st amendment which was written into our constitution when I remembered what my dad told me once, it’s not verbatim but I’m sure you [and the rest of barnett’s cronies will understand].

He said, ‘Pete, you can deal with politicians, you can deal with criminals, you can even deal with the clergy …. but you cannot deal with an idiot’.

I will ignore that for just a few more lines and then it gets invoked with respect to you ...

Now I appreciate you won’t class yourself as an idiot, most idiots fail to grasp that about themselves, it’s ironic really; and no doubt you’ll be spouting all sort of crap about me or whatever, but this is the bottom line here … and read it carefully abe – this whole barnett saga started when he couldn’t produce any accounts relating to the monies he had taken off of donators ….p8ntballer.com has launched soo many crusades in the past and all of them that I can remember were to try and safeguard our player base, both tourney and rec – scenario.
And we have a pretty good record in getting people’s money back or stopping people ripping ballers off.

barnett started out as being one such crusade – his actions, and indeed his inactions stank if we were to believe he was being legit …. But the reason you are an idiot is as follows; you defend a guy who looked like he was well on his way to defrauding a lot of people and a lot of money.
My question forced his hand in having to compile a set of accounts that if you go back and look at, Mickey ‘frikkin’ Mouse could have done it better, they were a joke, and you lot believed it … that’s why you are an idiot!!!

That sums up my reason for getting involved here … barnett’s strategy was simple enough, all he did was turn it into a Robbo v barnett affair where I was cast as the big bad tourney guy who’d gone mad, it deflected away all the attention from what he was up to with that money he’d taken in.
And you, and the rest of those idiots all fell for the same line ... I would dearly love to end this with a courteous ‘goodbye’ but for some reason, it’s beyond me at present and so, I’ll try as hard as I can to be polite and so here goes, ‘fuhk off back up barnett’s ass, coz I don’t want you, or any other people like you infecting my site again’.
You'll find the relative peace and quiet of other forums calming I'm sure ... have fun in Obscuresville ..

Im not saying its a great solution I would be pi $$ ed to pay for an urban site and get a woodland site,
I was mearly trying to get it back on topic but all were getting is barnetts groupies attacking you and not actually reading the thread correctly, of course barnett is covering his own back but you would of thought maybe give a percentage of the ticket refund as £65 to play at holmbush is a joke you can do there walkon for £50 with a box of paint. No offence to the site as it is a good site but not urban

well i have read this thread from start too finish and i know,or have spoken too robbo and timboy in my time.
both in thier own way are obsessed about paintball and want the same things for the game ,how they go about it may be different.
end of the day that is the problem .customer service, some guys do it one way some do it another.
do it wrong then eventually you will lose custom ,so if they are doing it wrong let them, eventually they will vanish.
but my big thing is CLOSE THIS THREAD LEEZO IS MORE IMPORTANT,THAN THIS CRAP

Bisc, you've known (of) me for a long time and i suppose you could say i'm obsessed with our sport but while you may not have agreed with the way i have dealt with things in the past, i have tried to do the right thing for ballers.
I'm in a privileged position inasmuch as i can take pretty much any stance i see fit because I'm generally not restrained by the politics.
I do not stand to make a single penny from all this sh!t, barnett however makes money out of ballers and therein lies the distinguishing difference.
This thread stands Biscuit because it's not an appropriate comparison to make mate.
Of course Leezo's thread is a million times more important than anything on this for and i will do anything and everything to assist that cause.
I felt it was a tad inappropriate to pitch one thread against the other but i 100% understand why you made it.
Good post Bisc ...

We're working away behind the scenes for Leezo. How do you think all these kind business people got to hear about things.

Leezo is our number one priority right now, everything else doesn't stop moving though ;)

Five tickets have been bought for this event by friends here in ireland, from the ferry the site is an approx 5 1/2 hour drive off the ferry as appose to a 2 hour from sennybridge. From memory the ferry is about 6 hours across to pembroke and with ferry times been quite bad hours the lads will be going a hell of a long way just essentially to play for approx a day and a 1/4. As the ferry was already booked @ €600 and now non refundable due to the short timeframe being cancelled i would wonder if the correct statement of shoreline knowing for 3 weeks and not saying anything this could have been a deciding factor in these guys just accepting the loss of £65 on tickets and not attending the event, where as now its a huge loss to individuals.
From working in retail for 12 years i personally could accept the venue being changed as it was stated and had to be agreed to. I do feel that there is a serious lack of customer service and empathy towards overseas players and the cost and distance to travel.
Ive attended a sennybridge event a few years ago hosted by shoreline and found it to be well run and one of the best weekends of my life, i had considered joining the guys to go back to senny but family life and work denies it ( hence i couldnt get a green light from the missus ). Quite simply if i had bought a ticket and it was changed to essentially is just a paintball site ( no offence to them im sure its great ) i wouldnt have travelled all that distance anyways.
Im not saying that people travelling from abroad should have different rules in this case but it would be nice.
I am going to be telling the five guys about this and hopefully some of the original requests made by simon could be accomodated by shoreline to ease players minds and not to essentially leave a bad taste in their mouths regarding this event.
So all in all the possibility of the event organisers knowing about this weeks ago COULD have resorted the lads getting a refund on their ferry tickets and only loosing the cost on their tickets. You may even say the event organisers COULD HAVE essentailly cost them €150 each. Lets hope the facts come to light..

Oh and dusty , stay as handsome and gentle as ever mate

Just wanted to add my 2 pence. Won't attack anyone personally but a company like shoreline has probably debated stuff like this on both sides of the fence and tried to do the best for everyone. Would I of liked a refund probably yes would I of liked shoreline to go under because of the giant bill definitely no I really look forward to everything they do.

You gotta think though if they handed out a few refunds it would quickly escalate so not only do they need to some how save the event but now they gotta sell tickets.

They done the right thing in the end concentrate on making the best with what they got. IF they had more notice IF they didn't have 30k of useless paint then I'm sure it would of been cancelled to please everyone. Clear paint in woods while not perfect its small teams so I think people will play fair to be honest its only usually when its organised chaos do the cheaters come out :p.

I'm lucky enough to still be able to go. I'm only a small player I did feel like the op but after cooling and seeing what they got planned it ain't all bad. Paintball is so personnel not sure why its like that.

Imagine the sneak attacks with clear paint mu hahhhahhaaa.
