The fittings for macro line are 'push fit'
Press the end in and the grip on the macro line is lossened so you pull the old line and push in the new

But before that you need to cut the new line to the right length (remembering to allow extra length for the fitting)
The cut must be straight and clean. Preferably with a macro line cutter

Check out the video below for some tips

Where do you get macro line from? Is there different types?

Effectively macro line is macro line.
There are other hoses of a similar size and look, but it must be designed for the correct operating and failure pressures
There are also other internal air hoses in paintball, but are at lower ratings as they are after the markers own regulator

Only buy from reliable sources, don't get this from obscure international outlets

For your asa to your regulator the choices are macro line or braided hose, and each requires the appropriate fittings

On the weight issue - are you realy that fast and that good that tiny weight adjustments are going to make the difference between eliminating and eliminated?

If you are a 'slight' person then a heavy marker / cylinder / hopper combination could affect you
For the great majority what matters is practice
