this is funny why would you do it surely you would make contact with the seller before logging a complaint
That would make sense
However Paypal is designed to protect the buyer, they can dispute and get their money back pretty easily
If you go by the first post the seller made 2 key mistakes -
1) communicated about the dispute outside of PayPal
(If going by other forms of communication then it should at least be duplicated on PayPal comms)
This makes it look to PayPal as if the seller is not communicating and gives more weight to the dispute
2) losing the tracking information
(Though it was found later and provided evidence of delivery the initial loss, and letting the buyer know, opened up the option to claim non delivery as with no tracking there is no way to prove it went anywhere)
The buyer could have been genuine in the enquity if it was not received at the initial time of enquiry or if there is truth in his father signing in his sons name, and then tempted to try and pretend it was not received when the tracking was lost
Fraud could have been the intent all along
At the moment we do not know. But the track record since this started does not look too good
