I've caught my postman putting "sorry we missed you" cards through my letterbox twice. I actually watched him do it yesterday.. I was in. I opened the door as he was putting the card through the door. He never even had the parcel with him... Does my nut in.

Seeing as this has turned in to a 'tell-everybody-how-much-a-bawbag-RM-is' thread, I had an experience with my posty a few years ago who threw my etek2 over a neighbours fence and left me a 'your parcel is with your neighbour' card. Think he must've been sacked soon after because I was waiting to see him again to throw him over a fence...

Royal Mail increased prices for letter and parcel deliveries several months ago. Increased costs of fuel etc.. probably had a lot to do with it. The delivery guys really are behaving like muppets lately. I've had several signed for deliveries go AWOL at my end - local sorting office is staffed by retards. Most of these eventually turned up but one from Amazon just vanished without trace.

Worst balls up recently... I had been waiting on an overseas delivery (5 weeks from USA), which was eventually left in our waste recycle wheely bin when I was at work. Card was dropped through my door and I found parcel when I got home. All sounds fairly harmless.. yes? This happened on a Tuesday... but If it had been a day earlier on Monday, our recycle bin would've been emptied by council. Bye Bye expensive overseas parcel

Nice one RM you utter Feckwits (n)

All the RM hate aside there are as many second rate idiotic parcel courier services out there also.

The one thing that continually peeve's me off about the RM is when the postman doesn't have the common courtesy to stick a delivery note through your door to let you know your parcel has been taken back to the depot,so your sat at home wondering were you parcel is.

Complain, complain, complain, not to your local delivery office but to the customer service line, I know the people on the other end of the phone may not be the brightest sparks, but a complaint raised this way, generates a paper/pc trail and has to be actioned by the delivery office manager. The phone number is 08457 740 740

And they lost the 1st one i sent via recorded as well
When you go to the post office always get a proof of posting, with a recorded your receipt should have the tracking number, and make a claim, the post office branch will have forms.

cost me £2.50 to post TWO pods in a carrier bag yesterday, and to be honest i think my farts weigh more.
Yep, the revised pricing is good if you're sending small, heavy items - it works out cheaper than before, but you're stuffed if you're selling bulky, light items.
Cost me just under £10.00 to send a pair of Eclipse distortion pants by 1st class standard parcels..
The new pricing structure to my mind is to move the larger parcels onto parcel force in preparation for it being sold off.

Started using my Hermes, a little more expensive than royal mail was before the price hike. Nice and simple to use and can be prepayed via paypal and there a places the parcels can be dropped off like local convenience stores ect. They can also collect, but not same day. Average parcel up to a KG, up to £25 loss compensation and signed for is around £4, but there are different options to upgrade insurance and weight ect

I only ever really use RM or Parcel Force.Parcel Force is a joke at times.I have noticed that it did seem a bit cheaper to send stuff through Special Delivery than it used to.A few years back I sold a P90 BB gun,and it cost just over £20 for next day.I sold my Sierra One last month with a load of extras, was twice the weight, and only cost me £16!Figure that one out?

Oh,and as for the courier thing,Im lucky because the guys that operate round our way, usually pop into my work aswell so I pretty much know them all.One guy just brings the stuff straight to my work,as last time he tried to pop a "sorry we missed you" card through the letterbox, our cat attacked him.hahaha
