Yeah it seems like a solid gun to me :) I also had a look at the Proto Rail but i like the simplicity of the Invert Mini, and I've had a few people recommend the mini over the Rail. I think it's just down to personal preference though.

The Rail is a bit nicer in the hands for me personally, shoots a bit nicer as well. mini is still one of those old round cracking guns

What's your opinion on the Axe? is it worth the extra money?
Over the mini yes the axe is worth more. not used it personally but when you look at the extra features you get (toolless bolt, on/off ASA, microswitch trigger, better ergonomics). A lot of it can be personal preference because the mini is incredibly short which some people really like, while the axe is a bit longer. I can't really give a direct comparison on the triggers but personally I didn't find the mini trigger to be terribly impressive. although it definitely isn't the worst either so try and shoot both if you can.

I've heard they are a great starter marker :) But yeah i need to keep my options open as the mini might not be for me. However i should add that i am only 14 so the mini's size seems really suited to me.

As for reliability and maintenance how is the mini?
The mini is very compact, so for smaller hands its ideal. Big hands can be an issue though. I'm somewhat in the middle and have no issues with mine.

For maintenance its nice and easy. The man a few posts above (Bolter) made a lovely little thread with a lot of mini info...take a peek if the mini takes your fancy: http://p8ntballer-forums.com/threads/everything-invert-mini-inc-tech-upgrades-thread.60273/

well worth a bookmark for the future too.

As i say the mini is my first marker and I have had the entire thing apart and put it back together no problems as well as cleaning it all out, lubricating everything that needs it (not much) and adjusting most things.

For reliability I wont comment. I haven't owned mine long enough to give an opinion actually worth reading so I will leave that to anyone else that would like to comment.

I've heard the axe spring up...a decision I had to make also: which one?

now that I own a mini i would still have bought the mini...but only because of price. If i had an extra £100+ i would have got an axe. Simply because its slightly bigger, tool less bolt removal and the on/off ASA. There are other notable benefits as above but they are the ones that would persuade me.

As a minimum its going to cost you £25 to add an on/off ASA to your mini (an external one) or £80 if you want to replace the mini built in ASA at the bottom of the grip. The external will add an inch onto your tank, the empire version (£80 one) doesn't. I like the extra inch...but im 5'10 and a decent build...the extra distance from the marker doesn't harm me at all and actually improves it for me. For someone quite a bit smaller i can see it being a paid.

If you can then get down to a walk on. It is highly likely you will find a mini owner or someone that previously had one and a few axe's too. Do your own comparison and listen to their comments as well. See which suits you best (y)

I'm glad to hear the maintenance is quite easy, because for me that's a crucial attribute as i am looking for my first marker.

I would like to buy the axe, but i would rather save some money for a good tank and a hopper as it takes me quite a few months to earn £100, (It's still a hard decision though!) :( I have looked up the external on/off ASA and i really don't think it would bother me as i am around 5'5/6 already.

I still need to do a bit of research and decision making but hopefully i'll have a decent setup soon.

matj Thank you for taking the time to help, the link was great aswell so thank you Bolter. (y)

Finally bought a marker :)

I went to Just Paintball today and payed for an Invert Mini, getting it on wednesday though because they've taken ALL their Minis to North v South. Also bought a Halo B V35 loader, an empire battlepack and an aluminum tank (Because i can't afford a carbon fibre one lol).

Can't wait to try it all out :)
