You're missing the point.

The Firm play SPL in the MS, which is semi-pro.

The equivalent division in the PSP is D1 Race to 5.

They didn't play that. Instead, they played D3 Race 2, which is several divisions lower.

By the way, I see you came 46th in D3 Race to 4. Was it because the standard of play was higher than you expected?
And do you know the circumstances of why they played in that division and also the roster they took out there?

Yes, we came 46th in 2012, we went 1 & 3. In 2011 we came 21st in D3 Race2 4.
You'll also see that in 2010 we came 4th in D4 Race2 4... it's all about the progression.

Shootinropez - In short, if you're playing D3 Millennium or a reasonable level at CPPS, then the D4 Race2 2 level will be fine.

sorry to correct you here Gran, but it was D3 race to 4 we came 4th in 2010, not D4. considering along the way to the semi finals we beat T1 Topgun Union, who the next year played and did well in D1 and are currently in contention for a pro spot, only to be beat by Assault, another team that played d1 in 2011, i think we did pretty well for what was essentially a scratch team consisting of 4 Relentless and 6 Tigers players!

Yeah dont take that as an indication of the level of competition. im pretty sure they were playing world cup as a bit of fun after a rough year in SPL, you statement should read "played" as they were relegated to D1 this year after finishing in 29th place out of 32 in SPL.
i would say D1 in the states roughly represents the level of competition in the top half of SPL, D2 is the higher end of D1 in the millenium, with maybe a few bottom level SPL teams thrown in. roughly you could correspond the same level comparison down through the divisions

Minus all the arguments about the levels of US vs UK paintball

Is anyone else interested in this. I've now got an overall ALL IN Cost of less than £700 including flight, room, cars, PSP entry, 25 cases of paint for the team and a little spending money. (realistically prob another 100 spending money but thats based on the individual)

and I also believe 4 of the tigers players were from the spl squad.
