New to Old Angel Thread Adapter

I have an Angel Fly A1, which has the new style Angel thread, and I have recently came across Joy Division Stiffi barrel, thing is, the Stiffi barrel is using the old style Angel thread.

Is there any converters I can get to use the barrel? Seems a waste to not be able to use such a great barrel!

hi mate dont think they do a convertor ? but ive just sold a angel lcd and ive left with some spares bits one of them being a 2 piece chrome/black freak barrel which u alter different inserts and i know this is old thread ! i can post up pic if interested ?

There are three Angel threads... The last two are compatible...
The first is the really old Angel thread (Angel 04's, Speed's etc)
The second is the G7 Fly Thread
The most recent is the Angel A1 Thread.

You can use G7 barrels on an A1 by using what is called a Vanity Ring, essentially it screws onto the barrel thread of the G7, converting it to A1 thread.

So depending on your barrel's thread, it may be compatible. I do remember a few months back in the for sale section someone had some barrels with a vanity ring up for sale, they may even still be available if you can find the thread.

This is as far as my knowledge goes really, if I am wrong feel free to correct me.

Assuming the barrel is the G7 thread, yes.
You have to remember there are three Angel thread types. It could be the Angel Speed thread, which is completely different and not compatible, even with that ring. It would need a TechT / Lapco adaptor or something similar.
Basically unless you are sure it is the G7 thread, just cut your losses, sell the thing and get a barrel kit... Just my opinion

Right, I just reread this and understand it is probably ridiculously confusing. Put it this way, If the stiffi barrel screws into the A1, but just doesn't screw in all the way and has some thread showing, then the Vanity Ring as above will solve it, and make it work.

If it doesn't screw in at all (I believe the older barrels had a thicker thread in comparison to the new ones) then it won't work, even with the vanity ring.

Firstly - The official Angel kit. I think this is the one that comes with the ARK, but fits all the A1 models
