hello. i have recently purchased a second hand bottle, and i believe it has a myth 3 reg on it. the bottle was new 2012/09. is it possible to remove the regulator, and adjust the thread alignment, so that the fill nipple is facing downwards, and the gauge facing upwards. thus giving a more comfortable feeling on my wrists! thank you.

there isn't a myth 3 but there is a myth g2 regulator. Its easily recognised by a gold coloured thread like the one HERE.

If it is you can see from the image that to rotate it, you must unscrew and remove the top flange by inserting the correct size allen key in the top and depressing the pin. Make sure your tank is completely empty of air or you won't be able to do this very easily. once you remove the top flange you'll see that when you lift the gold thread off, there are 4 studs that fit in to place on the regulator body. rotate the thread as required and seat it properly back in the holes. replace the top flange using the allen key and that is you good to go.

edit: i'm saying 4 studs but not sure that's correct; either way turn it until it sits firmly in place.

I think there is a new reg, or at least a different version. It has the same recessed burst discs as the g2, but the gauge looks slightly different... Best bet is for this guy to take a photo and we can see what version it really is

Unlike the g2, which has a gold thread, i think the new one has a black thread, but a gold top bit where the orings sit.... correct me if i am wrong

YES and as i have since found out there appears to be no way to adjust the thread. there are still interal burst discs, which are brilliant but as they cant be aligned properly with my marker, somewhat pointless! no info about it online though which is really annoying. think i may just have to wait until the new redesigned g2 regulator come out in march. disappointed to say the least.
