Ego 9 Issues

Used my ego at a tournament this weekend and noticed that at a reg pressure of anything above 270psi the balls were spraying all over the place. At 260 or below the balls were more accurate but still not great. Any ideas what this might be...

270psi ? or do you mean 270 fps ?

What is your dwell settings ?
Do you have the updated barb and plank kits installed ?
Checked your detents for wear ?
Breech and barrel clean ?
What paint ?

Also when you use the term spraying all over the place, do you mean the balls are swerving ? spraying broken paint ? or just inconsistant ?

Sorry, yeah meant 270fps not psi. To be fair i havnt checked the dwell, what setting would you recommend...Ive neither of those kits installed and the detents seem fine. The breech and the barrel were clean. The balls literally spray, almost like a site marker where they just curl off on their own little journey. The gun isnt chopping. Oh and the paint was Diablo. It all looked nice and round when i checked it out

if i remember correct the factory dwell is set at 10.5, i normally put it up to 11.5 in the colder months.
as for paint going everywhere it does sound like the paint

Go into settings on the gun and change it back to 'factory' setting to return it to stock, as it originally came from the factory... a good starting point

Ok ill give the dwell a check. I dont think it was the paint because I used the same paint through a DM12 and it shot beautifully. Obviously a spoolie is going to be more accurate than a poppet but the ego is taking the p*ss

If you want help its probably not a good start to say It takes the piss ??? Egos are awsome markers.....As advised go onto preset on your marker factory and you can then change BPS and ramp settings if needed or you can load the Mill setting. Save this and make sure you have cleaned your rammer and stuff.....Check your barrell doesnt have any kind of nick on the end as you may have dropped it or something.

Might also be worth checking your loader sometimes when the balls are stacked if the loader is to fast or forcefull it can crack the ball whilst loading into the breach hence you then fire a cracked ball...This happened to me once and a few adjustment and it was sweet

Spoolie over a poppet is no more accurate neither in my opinion they handle and shoot differently.....DM will be softer on paint over an ego hence why you may be smashing paint. do what i said and should be ok
