For egos i would not go for anything below a ego 9 as i think thats when they stopped using QEVs. Correct me if im wrong someone :)

I would say, geo 2, 2.1, etek3/4 am or lt or an ego 9,10 or 11. It depends on your budget if you want used or new and what you like poppits or spool value markers. I had an ego 10 and geo 2, I just prefered the ego so the geo was sold. There was nothing wrong with it, it was me.... So dont rule out geo's because it might be you prefer them to ego's. When you get the bug you will chop and change markers and manufacturers until you are happy with a marker or you get sponsored. Some of the older egos the spare parts are starting to be a little harder to find.

Dont be put off to much by colours, unless you want to play in the woods more and dont want to be running around with an orange gun.

If going for an ego 9 just make sure it has the up-graded barb and plank kit this was a free up-grade from planet.

Never understand the idea of a "Woodsball" marker that looks like a real military firearm? We don't shoot paintballs far enough to need sights, they aren't suited to magasines etc. By making them look "real" they are made heavier and more cumbersome - especially if you have a nice coily remote hose to tangle in branches and make it hard to swap hands.... Couple this with the fact that most are based uon blowback style markers and they are too heavy, bulkier, less efficient and offer a slower ROF.

.
Any marker is a "WOODSBALL" marker but what you find is a lot of players trying to label everyone who plays in the woods as "SCENARIO" players which is a different beast completly

Hiya

the flow restricting barb was the 1st fix for shredding issues on on the rammer then the plank kit was the next fix to sort out the problem. The plank kit was 2 plates that fitted between the solenoid and the ego 9 body.

I believe later ego 9 came with the up-grade and the earlier ones as long as you registered your ego with planet under their warranty program you were sent them free of charge. (please correct me if i am wrong).

If you see an Ego 9 and you like it ask the seller they should be able to let you know. I think planet may have run out of the plank kits now but I think there are a few shops in America that still stock them
