These use the A5 chipset of Go Pro Hero 2

You can get a new one at Maplins for £120, I got an extra £10 off with an online voucher (and ordered for collection in store)

http://www.maplin.co.uk/hd-action-camcorder-626370

Comes with camera, battery & charger, waterproof case, remote control, clip on screen, many many mounts (not a barrel mount though), cables

All you need to add is a micro SD card and if you want a mini HDMI/HDMI cable

This is all I had in the box:

Cheers for the advise guys. I have looked into that Contour and was tempted. The only problem with me is I'll be using it to also go snorkeling and snowboarding and many other sports as well as paintballing. So I need the higher FPS in high resolution for downhill riding and for it to be waterproof more then 1metre when in the water.

Higher fps doesn't always mean smoother footage, especially when it comes to biking. I did a HD Hero2 shoot riding a motorbike (and mountain bike) around Amsterdam. Motion Tracking and optical flow were needed to get the footage even vaguely usable. As others have said, the Contour is probably your best bet. If you do go for one, the wide angle one (720p, but that's only relevant if you're putting it on Vimeo) get some really nice footage. Plus, the Contour has a built in GPS geo locator, so you can track your various adventures and superimpose it on your finished video. God. I sound like a salesman. Sorry.

My Opinion. GoPros - awesome, but to get awesomely awesome, you need to be able to edit at a high standard

Contour - badass for the money, more color depth (IMO, that really matters) and more forgiving footage.

Bye.

lol no probs, I've been looking at them all for a while. With the amount of different activities I do I need the freedom to be able to use different mounts and know these different mounts are easy to get hold of. that's why I'm sold on the Gopro , plus it isn't that heavy on the barrel of the marker.

Was hoping to pick up a 2nd hand one, to stop me buying new :p
