The manual states: "The factory default setting can normally be reduced after a few thousand shots as the Geo3 ‘beds-in"

For the average player, this is an unspecified amount of time. We do not know how much paint you all shoot. If you deem that you have reached this stage then i would suggest seeting your SFR as you intend to use the marker, then reducing your dwell setting in 0.5ms increments until you experience a drop in velocity or consistency. When you do, raise it back up by 1ms to allow for some margin for error. This is called "dwell tuning".

I always leave the dwell stock on all the markers i had owned. No reason to mess about when i know it will shoot without problems all year round.
Once you start changing settings from stock, ie warm weather, then come winter you will need to adjust settings again.
Some players like to tweak to get the most and squeeze every ounce of performance out of there marker, but you will need an understanding of how and why they work better, there is no magical number, every marker is different.
Those who have less knowledge or just want to go out and play, then stock settings = bomb proof !
