Thanks, did a bit of research beforehand, and then couldn't resist. The price of the mask and quick response trigger was worth it alone.

Mate has just bought an a5. I've told him too sign up here and post in this thread.

Can i ask though what is a walk on? How does that differ from any other day?

A walk on is just turning up at a field on the hope of being able to play. For many reasons this can work, but mostly cause there are either an odd amount of players, or people have dropped out and not turned up, so the teams are light.

Basically I'm happy to go along to any local site and I don't mind playing alongside rental players, so long as I can use my own kit and buy paint at a sensible price.

The going rate at a lot of sites seems to be about £45 - £50 for entry, including your first box of paint, with extra boxes at £25 - £30/box, which seems fair. What put me off diamond wars was the overall cost, £60 entry and first box of paint + additional boxes of paint being £45, which seemed a bit on the expensive side. Having said that Paintfest looks a bit more reasonable at £60 for 2 days with paint at £25/box, although is only cheaper pro-rata if you shoot a minimum of 2 boxes a day as the entry fee does not include paint.

If Unique Pursuits now allow walk-on players I'm happy to come along, assuming the pricing is reasonable and they have HPA available.

My brother and one of the people I know that played at Paintball Valhalla might come too, at this rate there could be quite a few of us.

an to biturbo.s4 walk on day is like it say you walk onto site with your own gear but usually entry fee plus most of the time have to buy paint from the site

any of you lot been to North vs South, came across it via site banner and looks epic :S

Not sure as to if worth the funds, but there is a scuba centre in Northampton that does hydrotesting, but can't remember what its called.

Are you sure it has 8 hoppers, or 8 Pods?? A hopper feeds the marker. A pod stores the paintballs to load the hopper

As to price of paint, you have to remember that the more you buy @ any field, the cheaper it is.

I always shoot more than a 1000 so it makes sense to at least pair up with one other if not more, to buy in bulk

My sister is always raving on about groupon!
Definitely up for bulk buying paint... That would save us money.

I don't think it's possible to fix if honest I took it apart to change the battery, and when i did all the wire came un-soldered from their contact points. It's a very old second hand one (one of the first models) I think it's had it's time.

Anyway I tried re-soldering all the wires back, but no joy - even though I thought I did an okay job with the soldering if I do say so myself

Such a shame but nvm I'll have to buy a new one when wallet allows

Looks like a good set up to me rexy, though I think you should be able to knock him down a little. I paid £200 for my kit and it came with the following:

Tippmann A5
Collapsible Stock
Flatline Barrel
E Grip
14" Hammerhead Barrel
2x Remote lines
2 x 20oz CO2 bottles
Hopper
14 Pods
Full camo gear
Dye i3 Pro Mask
2x Pairs of gloves
Knee Pads
Barrel Sock
And spare O rings.

However my A5 needed a little work, some of the alan screws had been rounded and was tedious to drill out and replace.

I reckon if you got yours down to £275 it would be a good deal, though you'll probably want to buy a new air bottle, I was told they cost £40 to test. I could probably fix you up with a 2nd hand one for less. ANd you'll still need a good mask.

Would be awesome to meet up with you all if we can get something planned.
