There is a lot of choice about:
Pod belt
Pod belt, with an air cylider pouch
Military assault vest (fixed pouches)
Paintball assault vest (fixed pouches)
MOLLE assault vest (Add military and/or paintball pouches)
What matters on the type is what you want to carry, and how much
A notable point is the pod you use, some have a greater diameter than standard and don't fit every pouch
Pod belts are designed for paintball, they hild your paint behind your back and are usualy worn so when you open the pouch the pod drops into your hand. Some have the end of each pouch elasticated to push the pod out.
Most have elasticated loops between each pouch for extra paint. These are designed for the 'tournament' player who will drop pods as the load then pick up later.
This shows 3 pods that can be put back empty as they have pouches, and two that are just in elasticated straps.
Pod pouch with cylider pouch. You can use a remote line to keep the cylinder off your marker.
An army assault vest, with fixed pouches.
Not specificaly designed for paintball but pods will fit some of the pouches.
If you get some 50 shot pouches or cut some down then you can use it to its capacity
A paintball vest with fixed pouches
Fixed pouch vests are fine, but they are not flexible. A MOLLE vest lets you attach as you wish, change it around for different games and also expand your pouches over time.
I recommend MOLLE, but its not the cheapest option what you start adding the pouches, but it is flexible.
In addition to the basic types there are numerous variations depending on how the vest is distributed over you, and what areas can accept pouches. e.g. full waistcoat , you can also go for a MOLLE belt which bring you back to a similar setup to a pod belt.
