...willing to do me a huge favour please?
Basically I'm in the process of buying something and the seller is being a little bit funny and I'm not entirely sure if it's going to turn out they're trying to scam a fair bit of money out of me. The seller is unwilling to use paypal and wont state their reasons for this, and I have no wish to send them a BACS payment as these are extremely hard to get back should anything untoward happen.
So, I have suggested that I have a friend drop by their house to check the validity of the item in question and confirm their details, take some photos... etc.
I'd be willing to sling over some money to cover your expenses and a pint or two if wanted.
I don't really want this sale to fall through, but I'm not going to be a mug and get ripped off because I haven't been sensible.
I have suggested I could go and collect the item, but I don't really wish to make an 11hour round trip and potentially if this person is intent on scamming then I might not put it past them to straight up mug me or something.
It could well turn out that this is completely legitimate, but through communications with this guy something doesn't feel 100% right and I'd rather be safe than sorry. The ball is in their court now and if of course they don't posses the item then they will just make an excuse and pull out of the sale or refuse to have someone view it, so hopefully this will call their bluff.
This isn't paintball related, so apologies for putting it in here, I just wondered if someone in our community could help me out. Thanks!
