How far paintball has moved on over the years......(16 to be exact)

Trawling the youtube and foudn some little gems of really old paintball footage. I'm glad we are where we are today, without the evolution of the formats below, we'd still be running around in the woods!

This game lasted 16 minutes!!!

Look at the size of those markers. Dynastys Angels aren't too bad, but TonTon's Impulses are rediculously tall.

Yeah what a great idea. Linked bunkers with 6" pipes at floor level, and guys running around at full tilt.. what could possibly go wrong?

Tripping over the air pipes while doing that crucial run through was a right of passage back then.

Hated those piped fields all i can remember is trying to zip up the connections between the pipes and bunkers and i always got the sticky zip that wouldn't work for some reason.

You say it like you never got tripped over...I know I got caught the first time I played Sup Air. Also remember getting shot in the back of the head when snap shooting and the team mate behind me snapped out at the same time, D'oh! How about the Hyperball and Mound fields? Is there still any Hyperball fields operational?

Think Skirmish Nottingham still have a Hyperball field.

Oh yeah, I went over just the same as most but you always remember watching others go. The hyperball field in the video is still in use at Skirmish. Nottingham

Reminds me of the last game I played before I quit paintball...
Was a 3 on 1 situation, me being the 1. There was no doubt that I was going to get spanked - not played paintball that long, and was a center back player.
Don't know how I did it, but I took all 3 out, got the flag and won our only game of the day!
Think I took out their center player, then right player then left. Kept changing angles, laying fire and moving, so they didnt see where I moved to, then when they popped out, I nailed them from a different location.

Sold all my gear to someone at that event too

Remember filling your bottle up, then weighing it after?

We weighed ours as they were being filled - made a 20 oz shaped stand for the digital scales

Still remember the 'woosh' of Co2 dumping from fill rigs in the staging area and the routine...

Hook up to fill station and rest on scales
Dump remaining Co2 to chill bottle.
Zero scale and start to fill until you hit CO2 weight capacity
Shut of rig an purge remaining Co2 in lines
Remove bottle from fill line
and repeat.. over and over and over again

The joys of early 90's tournament paintball... wouldn't have missed it for the world
