Also in the meantime try some rubber gloves for a bit of extra grip and a helping pair of hands on one end whilst you turn the other.

As Niallst pointed out, use physics to help you.

Metals expand and contract with cold / heat.

Stick the whole thing in the freezer for a few hours then run the hot tap over the back section to shrink the front and expand the back.

Use rubber gloves to increase grip and you should be fine.

boiling hot water,, or you can use a hot air paint stripping gun,,,,

you need to heat up the joints but not with a naked flame..as this would warp the barrel,, not good,,,

lol A.Kaye people never fail to amaze me anymore. like when you go to a walkon and see a noob in the safe area take his barrel sock off then his barrel off look down the breech "its not working" *bang* gets hit in the face point blank (no mask). even tho people get told keep ur sock on !

You can pick up the straps from B&Q for about £6 if you get 2 you can use one to wrap around the barrel and place this in a bench vice to hold it in place (this will protect the paintwork) while you use the other strap to undo the other part of the barrel.

My god that brings back memories...

I remember playing at some location (cant remember where) and one of my team mates who was a dick had left his marker on the bench without a sock on it.
I didnt know it was turned on still and loaded so I moved it to put a sock on the barrel and touched the trigger shooting myself in the nuts.

I could have smashed that dickhead's face in for the stupidity AND the self nut shot.
