Just to add, a few years ago Tom repaired a board for me and its still going strong!! If it can be fixed, he's your man.

got the marker today and had a good look at it, the repair looks like it's reasonably easy, but there is another component that's been damaged. Trying to identify what value it is atm, but the damb markings are so small on these surface mount components., you need a microscope to see what they are.
The microswitch is sorted, and the spealer is more or less done, it's just this crystal that needs to be sourced.
