To be honest I don't think an Axe will be an upgrade from an Etek3 - they're both mid-range value markers with similar performance levels. Just wanted to manage your expectations a little.

I'm in the same team as phil-boy, so potentially biased due to sponsorship but I'm not one to praise something if it's crap.

The Axe is a tidy gun - big improvement over the Mini and works well. Nicer, less cramped layout. Venting on/off asa reg and the quick release bolt-out-the-back setup is ingenious.

Only three things I don't like: I'm not a fan of the stock feedneck (same as the mini), it works but looks naff, feels cheap and flaps around annoyingly when there's no loader in place. I stuck an Empire nano feedneck on mine straight away - much nicer.

The stock board has all the modes you're ever likely to need, however it's a 'count the LED flashes' type, which feels very 2005 having come from owning an OLED Angel 1. It also doesn't retain your settings in non-volatile memory when you remove the battery (it does for about 20 secs to allow battery swaps), so if you prefer to store your marker with the battery removed, be prepared to redo the settings before each tournament.

Stock barrel is erm, a metal tube that works but is oversized (0.692 I think) for today's teeny tiny paint.

As Phil mentioned, our entire team run Axes and I can honestly say that we've not had any guns go down since obtaining them. Great gun and I can recommend it.

A bit that has been missed is the regulator is 0 maintenance & the bolt assembly is tool less removable (but I have yet to see an axe chop paint)
If you need an oled board then virtue do one with a cover to replace the one on the front grip for around $180 but unless you need one to look at there really is no point in buying the oled board as the standard setup is 20+ bps capable & pretty good on air.

I had a geo2 but sold it & bought 2 axes...
