Nations Cup @ MS Campaign Cup Basildon

This event was presented to me as being a part of a new era in EPBF and hopefullly in Paintball. Probably I must have understand it the wrong way because if I schedule an event a week before I was definitely saying it is nothing more than a side event. I am sure the pictures will be great and there will be a lot of people cheering. That is good, but not enough. Not enough for a sport and not enough coming from the only international organization that exists in this side of the ocean, the millennium.
When I mention the countries I mean the national federations or leagues that exist and that should have a word about all this. If this is to be international at least act like international.
The British players will all be available, but imagine if you came from Portugal or Spain or other countries? Who do you think will play? The best or the ones that already booked the airplanes or can afford first class?
Yes Robbo I remember the X-Ball tournament Richmond Italia did and was hoping something more like that. Probably it changed forever paintball and at least we could try to use an event like the Nations cup to start something important. Next time we talk about nations cup everybody will remember this and see it as a side event to something else. It could be more than that. Much more.
Yes Tom Ormrod I have done or I think I have (as self images can be misleading) something for the paintball and for free. Have you?
"There's nothing wrong with being in the right place at the right time - it served me well enough for years" there is nothing wrong with it, Just don't make it all about it.

I opened this thread unaware of what a metaphorical can of worms it would be, I wouldn't like to get in an axe fight at CC as there seem to be a few currently being honed to a fine edge!
Yes, OK, it is a side-show to the main act, but as has been pointed out, to the casual, (i.e. non-initiated, non-paintball playing) observer, such as players families, the general media or the man on the Clapham Omnibus, this will mean more than S****horpe Spartans Vs Coquins D' Cherbourg, or any other similar combination of matches they may come up against.
With Twizz, Spike and Markie C at the helm here are three of the most proactive individuals on the UK scene. Everybody will have their own ideas of who would have been the best to run and play for the team, but as Twizz has stated it was a case of who was available, able and willing to. Its a pretty good squad and one most would have picked , with maybe one or two changes to the personnel.
The accusations of lack of notice given by the Millennium is laughable, some people seem to have short memories, or just don't stay abreast of the news, for their benefit I'd like to announce that we have a coalition government in this country and our planes have been bombing Gaddafi for the past 100 days and still haven't got him. See the screen shot of the Press Release on the MS site below, its on page 7 (currently, if you want to read more, sorry, I ran out of scroll) of their news section and dated 7th January.
Now, it would appear that the EPBF/MS/FED hadn't been collaborating on this, possibly as the EPBF hadn't received their dues from the FED, but that again is a whole different matter!

Well Nuno Pedrosa, that's good to hear. I don't believe my post required me to have to have achieved anything for the sport, the question was aimed directly at your original posts negativity.
As you're well aware there are many people who talk the talk on the forums and with only 3 posts to your name it's quite easy to presume that you want to appear as knight in shining armour. It's nice to know you're not.
In regards to my efforts, I work everyday in the Industry, and put my heart In everyday. Might not be life changing but I try to do my part

To be honest I cant be bothered reading paintball politics, just not my thing, this is just a fun hobby to play to me
